Case Study: Te Hāpua Halswell Centre
Eliot Sinclair were engaged by the main contractor for this BIM project and were instructed to facilitate the efficient digital workflow of geospatial data from the design to the construction phase of the Te Hāpua Halswell Centre.
This was a challenging project as this was not a typical square building – nothing appeared to be designed to be parallel or vertical apart from the piles. A tight 6mm tolerance to work within meant close cooperation between the contractor and the Eliot Sinclair team was essential during the setting out phase of the work and to ensure steel fitted perfectly first time, every time.
All data from the designer and steel fabricator was transmitted via Eliot Sinclair onto the site in a digital manner, which demonstrated the benefits of BIM workflows.
This was a project that the Christchurch City Council and Eliot Sinclair can be rightly proud of.
